Subdomains

Subdomains can be used to split your website into areas or sub-sites - useful for members areas, different services you may offer or for hosting other peoples sites that are related to the subject of your main site.

Each subdomain has its own ftp access and shares webspace with your main domain. Subdomains don't incur any registration fees, as they're tied to an existing domain name and they're free to setup via your control panel. An example of a subdomain would be as follows: Say your web address is www.yourdomain.com, and you created a subdomain for members only. The address could be members.yourdomain.com. You could open up your browser and type in members.yourdomain.com in the address bar and that portion of the site would open up.
